Choosing a model
The model is the AI engine that powers your application — it determines what the app can do: the task type, the context size and the inputs it accepts (Text, Image). You attach a model from the app's configuration through a short guided wizard: you say what you want to do, then pick from the models preselected for that goal. You can change the model later, or remove it.
Before you start — The models available to you depend on your plan. Models above your plan appear greyed out with the plan they require. See Plans & billing and The model catalog.
Choose a model for your app
- Open the app, then Configure.
- Under Model Selection, click Select a model.
- On What would you like to do?, pick the task category that matches your need.
- On What is your goal?, pick the precise task type.
- Under Select a model., choose one of the preselected models. Each model card shows its task type, context size, and a Text or Image badge for the inputs it accepts.
- Click Save.
The model is attached to your app and you return to the configuration page, where Model now shows as configured.
Note — thinkhx preselects the most suitable models for your goal: We have preselected the most suitable models to meet your needs. You don't have to know model names in advance.
Remove the model
- Open the app, then Configure.
- Under Model Selection, click Delete next to the current model.
- On Delete this model, click Delete.
The model is removed and the app can't run reasonings until you add a new one.
Note — An app with no model can't be activated or run. Add a model again to make it runnable.
Change the model
The configuration page offers Delete on the model it already has, so changing model means removing the current one and choosing another.
- Remove the current model as described above.
- Under Model Selection, click Select a model and run the wizard again.
The app now uses the new model, and Model shows as configured again.
Important — Between the two steps the app has no model, so it can't be activated or run. Finish the swap before you run a reasoning.
Note — Whenever you leave a model screen with Cancel, or with the X in the header, you come back to the app's Configuration page and nothing is changed.
Pick a size your plan allows
Every model comes in one or more sizes, and each card in Select a model. is a model at one size. Sizes above your plan are greyed out and badged Available on the plan they need.
- Choose a card that isn't greyed out.
- Click Save.
Choose nothing and you'll see Please select a power level for this model.; choose a greyed-out size and you'll see Please select an available power level for this model.
Tip — The About the model box on the screen states the rule: The model is the AI engine that generates your application's responses. The models available depend on your billing plan. To reach a larger size, move up a plan — see Plans & billing.
