Signing in
You reach the workspace at its sign-in page with your email and password. If your brand uses two-step verification you'll also enter a one-time code, and if an administrator has asked for it, you'll set a new password before you continue. This page covers signing in, creating an account, two-step verification, setting a required new password, recovering a password, choosing the language and the country you read the workspace in, and signing out.
- Open the workspace sign-in page.
- Enter your Email address and Password.
- To stay signed in longer on this device, tick Stay connected.
- Click Next.
You land on your dashboard — or, if two-step verification applies, on the code screen (next task).
Note — If the details are wrong you'll see Incorrect email address or password. The same message appears when no account uses that address, so it never reveals whether an address is registered. Never share your credentials — invite the other person as a team member instead.
Note — After 5 failed attempts within 15 minutes your account stops accepting sign-ins for the rest of that 15-minute window, and a security alert is emailed to you once. While the block lasts the page still shows Incorrect email address or password. even if the password is right — wait for the window to pass and try again, or reset your password (below).
Note — If an administrator has suspended or deleted your account you'll see Unable to connect to this account. instead. Ask whoever manages your workspace to restore it.
Note — When a session runs out while you were away, or is ended from elsewhere, you're returned here with Your session has expired. in grey at the top of the form, under Log in. Sign in again to continue — you come back to your dashboard, not to the page you were on.
Note — If the page has been open for a long time, clicking Next can come back with Your form session has expired. Reload the page and try again. in red at the top of the form, under Log in. Reload the page, re-enter your details and submit again. The same message can appear on any other form you leave open too long.
Note — If your browser sends a session the workspace can't read — a cookie that was damaged or edited — it counts as no session at all: you get the sign-in page rather than an error, and signing in again clears it.
Sign in with a verification code
Your brand can add a second step to sign-in: once your password is accepted you enter a one-time code before you reach your workspace. Whether it applies is a brand setting, not something you turn on — when it is on, the code screen appears every time you sign in.
- Enter your Email address and Password, then click Next.
- On Two-step verification, find the 6-digit code sent to you — the screen
reads Enter the login code we just sent you.
- Enter it in Code, then click Verify.
You're signed in and taken to your dashboard.
Note — The code is sent on its own, to every channel your brand has turned on: by email, by text message, or both. A text message only reaches you if you have a phone number on file. There is no button to send the code again.
Note — A code is valid for 10 minutes. Once it expires, opening the screen takes you back to the sign-in page with no message — sign in again to get a new one.
Note — A wrong code shows Incorrect code. and counts as an attempt; after three wrong codes the next try returns you to the sign-in page and the code is dead. Submitting the box empty shows Please enter the code. and does not count as an attempt.
Note — Signing in again within 5 minutes of a code being sent does not send a second one: you're returned to the screen for the code you already have. To leave the screen without finishing, click Back to sign in.
Set a required new password
An administrator can require you to choose a new password before you continue — for example after resetting your account. When that applies, entering your email and password (and your verification code, if asked) takes you to a password page instead of your dashboard.
- On New password required, enter your New password.
- Enter it again in Confirm password.
- Click Save and continue.
Your new password is saved and you're signed in. For your security every other session is signed out, and a confirmation is sent to your email (and by text message if you have a phone number on file).
Note — Use at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit and a symbol. A password that misses any of those shows The password must contain at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one symbol., and two entries that differ show Passwords do not match.
Note — The page stays open for 10 minutes after your password is accepted. Past that it returns you to the sign-in page — sign in again to get a fresh one. Back to sign in leaves the page without setting a password, and you'll be asked again next time.
Create an account
- On the sign-in page, click the Registration link.
- On Create an account, enter your Name, First name, Email address and Password, then click Next.
Your account is created and you're signed straight in. The first time, you may be asked to verify your email and phone before continuing.
Important — Use at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit and a symbol. Your name and email can be edited later from your profile.
Reset a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, click Forgotten password?.
- On Reset the password, enter your Email Address, then click Continue.
If the address matches an account, a recovery link is emailed to you.
Note — If you just asked for one, Please wait before making a new request. appears — wait a moment before retrying.
Set a new password
- Open the recovery link from your email.
- Enter the Code received, then click Continue.
- Enter your New password, Confirm the password, then click Continue.
You'll see Your password has been successfully reset. You can now log in. and your other sessions are signed out.
Note — Use at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit and a symbol. If the two entries differ you'll see The passwords are not the same.
Note — The emailed code is valid for 5 minutes. Past that, or after three wrong attempts, you'll see The code has expired. and you have to request a new recovery email. A code that matches no account shows Please check the code., and one that doesn't match yours shows The code is not valid.
Change the language you read the workspace in
The sign-in page picks a language for you — your browser's, when the country you're on runs in it, otherwise that country's main language. Change it from the list under the form.
- Open the workspace sign-in page.
- Below the form, find the two lists side by side. The right-hand one, marked
with a globe, shows the language you're reading now.
- Click it and pick your language — each one is written in its own words
(English, Français, Nederlands, Deutsch, 中文).
The sign-in page reloads in that language, and so does everything else: registration, password recovery and your workspace once you're signed in.
Note — The list only offers the languages the country you're on runs in. United States and France each run in one, Belgium in Français, Nederlands and Deutsch, Hong Kong in English and 中文.
Note — Your choice is remembered on this device for a year. Clear your browser's cookies, or open the workspace on another device, and it starts again from your browser's language.
Tip — The same two lists sit below the Create an account form, so you can switch language before you register.
Switch to another country
Each country has its own sign-in page and its own set of languages. Use the left-hand list to move between them.
- Open the workspace sign-in page.
- Below the form, click the left-hand list — the one with a flag, showing the
country you're on.
- Pick another country: Belgium, France, United States, Hong Kong
or World.
The sign-in page reloads for that country.
Note — Countries don't share their languages. If the one you'd picked isn't run by the country you move to, the page falls back to that country's main language — going from Belgium in Nederlands to United States brings you back to English.
Sign out
Signing out ends your session on this device and returns you to the sign-in page.
- In the top-right corner, click the round project button — it shows your current project's logo, or its initials.
- At the bottom of the menu, below your email address, click Log out.
You're taken back to the sign-in page and this device's session ends immediately.
Note — Signing out ends only the session on the device you're using. If you're signed in somewhere else you stay signed in there; end those sessions from the My devices tab of your profile, which also carries the same Log out button for the session you're on.
Note — Signing out happens through that button only. Opening the sign-out address from a bookmark or the address bar takes you to your profile overview and leaves you signed in.
